Editing a page
To put some text on the first page, go to the Carrelet control panel, find the row that says edit page 1 and click on go. You will be taken to a page entitled Carrelet: Configure page 1.
There is quite a lot on this page, but, for now, stick to the most important sections.
- The Title is the text that will appear at the top of each window, next to the site title, and also as the main heading on the page.
- The Menu entry is the text that will be displayed in the menu. It could be the same as the title, but often the menu entry is shorter. For example, the page title might be 'Our list of products' while the menu entry might be simply 'Products'.
- The Body text is the main block of text on the page. Just type it in as if you were writing an email. To start a new paragraph, leave a blank line. You can press return if your navigator doesn't 'wrap' the text automatically, and Carrelet will treat the newline as a single space. If you want to include clickable web page addresses, just type them in, starting with http://. Email addresses will also be made clickable automatically.
Leave the other settings as they are, click on modify, and you should get a short message saying that the page has been updated. Click on continue to return to the control panel.
